2.Glass tank furnace should have a long life and selection of refractories is very crucial to achieve the desired life.

The selected refractories should have the following properties:

1.) Chemical Stability
2.) Least effect on glass quality (No Inclusions, Gas Formations, Seed/Cord Formations)
3.) High Corrosion Resistance
4.) High Creep Resistance (Low Glassy Phase)
5.) Volume Stability at high temperature
