The cooling part for float production process refers to the melting furnace part before the end of the neck to the flow channel. Calendering, flat drawing, vertical lead up process refers to the end of the neck to the forming chamber of the transverse path, branch path and other melting furnace part. Its function is to ensure that the melting part of the molten glass can continue to homogenize and cool to forming the necessary temperature and viscosity. Production process is different, the scale is different, the forming temperature of glass liquid is different, the cooling area is also different. The larger the production capacity and output of the melting furnace, the more liquid glass flows into the cooling part, and the larger the cooling area is needed.
The structure of the cooling part is basically the same as that of the melting part, which is also composed of the furnace and the superstructure surrounding the gas space above the furnace. The pool depth of the cooling part is generally 150 to 300mm shallower than that of the melting part.
The block at the bottom of the pool is the same as the melting part. The paving brick above the block is usually made of 33# AZS brick or α-β corundum brick. Some melting furnace with calcium silicon board and aluminum silicate fiber felt on the bottom of the heat preservation.
Because the cooling part is lower than the melting part, the pool wall brick is better than the melting part. But it has to bear the high quality glass required by forming, so the requirements of the brick material are different from the melting part. At present, the pool wall bricks are generally built by vertical joints with the thickness of 250mm, width of 300~450mm and height of 1250~1350mm, and α-β corundum bricks are used for high quality melting furnace. The cooling pool wall bricks of float glass production line are usually not insulated.
The masonry of the cooling part does not need to be repaired in one production cycle due to its lower temperature than that of the melting part, low temperature and hanging wall barrier, and no contact with the flame. In addition, some operation holes are also arranged in the cooling part, such as dilution air hole, liquid level control inspection hole, liquid level mirror hole, furnace pressure extraction hole, observation hole, thermocouple insertion hole and dredge hole, etc.
