Low iron glass is produced by using high purity silica sand with minimal iron impurities(Often refined through advanced processing like magnetic separation,leaching),and it exhibits higher light transmission(Transmits 91-92% of visible light) and reduced green tint,which is favored in scenarios demanding clarity,aesthetics or optical efficiency like architecture,solar energy,display&retail and electronics.
However, the environment of low iron melting is aggressive due to higher temperature ,lower viscosity, stronger corrosion and high blistering as well.Thus it asks high quality AZS refractories with excellent performance ,like yittria doped AZS refractory.
