With soaring price of natural gas and sluggish demands, more and more glass manufacturers would rather to build electric glass furnace with boosting system, or some ones intend to take use of a numerous of bottom or sidewall electrodes in the melting tank.

Fused cast AZS (Alumina-Zirconia-Silica) blocks are engineered for use in glass electric furnaces. Their design is optimized for high corrosion resistance, thermal stability, and critically high electrical resistivity. This property is vital in furnaces where the blocks may be near electrodes and exposed to extreme temperatures,influencing energy efficiency,current distribution,refractory longevity.

The electrical resistivity of AZS blocks varies depending on their specific composition, particularly the zirconia (ZrO2) content. Higher zirconia content generally leads to increased electrical resistivity.What is more,electrical resistivity decreases as temperature increases. Therefore, at the high operating temperatures of glass furnaces, the resistivity of AZS blocks will be lower than at room temperature.
